Tax credit veto threatens rehab of old theater

WORCESTER- Gov. Mitt Romney’s veto of the expansion of the state historic tax credit program might significantly alter the $20 million plan to create a performing arts center in the vacant Showcase Cinemas building. His action could also jeopardize the effort to renovate a dilapidated Main South building into 40 affordable housing units.
