Matchbox Creator Dies

Jack Odell, a van driver, cinema projectionist, estate agent, engineer and inventor of Matchbox toy cars, died this weekend at the age of 87. More than 12,000 different models and 3 billion miniature vehicles have been produced since he created the first one for his young daughter in 1952.
