Projectionist sees indie films for free, but it’s a lot of work

Max Savage feels pretty lucky when he goes to work. The San Rafael native, 24, is a projectionist at the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center, where he gets to see some of the best independent films for free. Savage is a student at College of Marin and works at the Rafael at night.
