A brief history: Opened in 1930 as the Victoria, the Odeon cinema eventually closed in 2000, and remained empty. The bid to turn it into a venue began. In 2004 it was bought by Yorkshire Forward, using public money, for the people of Bradford, some of whom formed BORG (of which Mr Pennington himself is a member) and worked tirelessly to organise events like Hug The Odeon.
