CineEurope, Amsterdam, 30th June 2011. Christie and CCI has announced today a major agreement with Christie to supply a batch of some 220 Digital Cinema projectors to Cinema City International (CCI) — the largest multiplex theatre operator in Central and Eastern Europe (as well as Israel) and the third largest overall exhibitor in Europe.
Speaking of the developing relationship with Christie, Titra / Cinema Technologies principal owner and CEO, Ron Gritzerstein, said, “Cooperation with the right partners and suppliers to achieve this objective is paramount to us. We have been working continuously with Christie for over 15 years and it’s proven to be a trusted and successful partnership. Once again we have listened to the client’s challenges and requirements, and then liaised closely with Christie to meet and exceed their needs.”
CCI is operating today a total of 885 screens. And the current deal with Christie which included a combination of Christie CP2220 Series and Christie CP2230 Series will be another step toward CCI going all-digital.
Deployment will be in Israel and Europe’s eastern bloc (including Poland, Romania and Bulgaria).
