If the three-screen theater on Palmer Avenue were ever to close, it would hit Genny Kersh’s social life pretty hard. “This place is only a five-minute walk from my house. I don’t have to ask my mom to drop us off or find out when the movie ends for her to pick us up. It’s just not an ordeal and we can get here ourselves,” said Kersh, 16, said on a recent Friday amid the dusty chandeliers and black gum spots at the Larchmont Playhouse where she and two friends watched the movie “Rent.”
