Texas Instruments DLP™ Products Announces 5 Million Units Shipped

DALLAS, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Texas Instruments (TI) (NYSE: TXN – News) today announced that it has shipped its 5 millionth DLP™ subsystem, reflecting the increased demand and growth of DLP products within the last year. It took five years, from 1996 to 2001, to ship the first million DLP units, and just under two years to ship the second. TI announced its 3 millionth shipment in March 2004, and has shipped the last 2 million DLP units in just 8 months.
