Theatrical rescue plan for old Odeon cinema

MUSICAL producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh wants to turn a former Glasgow cinema into a theatre. Sir Cameron wants to refurbish the old Odeon in Renfield Street, but admits his chances are slim. He said: “You could put 2000 seats in there, but the city doesn’t seem to want it. I would certainly contribute money towards it.”
