Cinema goers defy the credit crunch

Quantum of Solace broke British box office records for a Friday opening to take £4.9m in ticket sales on its opening day, as it has emerged that box office revenues this year are expected to outstrip takings in 2007. Box office takings are expected to reach about £860m compared with £821m in 2007, according to Screen Digest.
