Groundbreaking cinema project put on hold after council accused of “blocking” funding bid from Paisley Community Trust

The Trust has been seeking to buy and transform the Bargain Buys building into a five-screen community cinema but council chiefs refused to sign off their application for almost £20m from the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund.
