“Trouble Me Tonight” (Don’t Bother to Knock), a real oddity in the actress’s career, was released in 1952. Although it was the star’s 19th role, it marked a real turning point in her budding career. At the time, Marilyn Monroe chained supporting roles in comedies with little successful scripts and desperately sought the role that would allow her to reveal her full range of acting.
