Dutch cinema sound system manufacturer returns to CinemaCon
The world’s premier cinema convention, CinemaCon, takes place at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas NV USA from April 11th to 14th; With attracting attendees from more than 80 countries and featuring the largest cinema trade show in the world, CinemaCon is the main event in the motion picture theater industry.
Leading sound technology innovator, Netherlands-based Alcons Audio will once again be present through its US factory-direct operations, Alcons Audio USA.
Alcons will be exhibiting with its range of evolutionary cinema loudspeaker solutions, based around proprietary multiple-patented pro-ribbon transducer technology, in which the company’s R&D department has a 30-year background.
Implemented in the Alcons C-series, these sound systems excel in uncompressed, 1:1 crystal-clear reproduction of the original sound source, with up to 90% less distortion than traditional systems. Combined with dedicated amplification and processing, the C-series delivers the ultimate cinema experience to any size audience, for the smallest 5 seat room, to the largest 5.000 seat cinema hall.
Alcons will preview no less than 3 new products for the cinema market, as extension of the CRMS systems; Cinema Reference Monitor Systems. This reference product group is dedicatedly designed for screening room and studio environments, as well as premium cinemas and has been installed, a.o. at Walt Disney, NBC Universal, Lucasfilm, Factory studios and a fast growing number of premium theatres worldwide.
These additions comprise new surround systems, among which the CRMS-SRIW, the two-way reference high-output pro-ribbon surround system and the CRMSC-SRIW, the smaller format two-way reference high-output pro-ribbon surround system.
Besides offering the patented horizontal coverage and 1:15 RMS-to-peak dynamic range, both surround systems offer a homogeneous sound stage for a seamless screen/surround transition, featuring the exact same transducer components as their matching screen systems.
A further selection of Alcons’ C-series will be on display, including the space-saving CR1 ultra-compact screen system with 8-in system depth and the CRS8 pro-ribbon reference surround .
Directly after the CinemaCon, next stop for Alcons’ pro-ribbon Digital Cinema ready cinema systems will be Kino congress in Karlsruhe; Europe’s leading cinema event for the German-speaking countries. As Technical Partner for the event, all studio screenings will take place on an Alcons surround sound system.
