In the age of social distancing, outdoor theaters are a fun way to catch hit movies (and concerts!) on the big screen. If you think drive-ins are exciting, this floating movie theater in Paris takes outdoor movie-going to the next level, swapping out cars with boats.
Paris Plages, an annual event that creates temporary beaches on the Seine, teamed up with Häagen-Dazs and mk2 to create the new event called “Cinéma sur l’Eau,” which translates to Cinema on the Water. Moviegoers will be able to watch the movie from a fleet of 38 electric boats. According to Business Insider, the boats seat four to six people and can only be boarded by small groups of friends and family members. In addition to the boats, there will be 150 deck chairs on land, in the Paris Plages area.
