The BFI has launched the first phase of its BFI Neighbourhood Cinema programme, worth up to £2m over the next four years (2013-17). The Fund’s main objectives are to:
- grow audiences for film at a community level;
- establish and develop community venues;
- increase focus on and access to British and to Specialised film.
The BFI Neighbourhood Cinema Fund comprises two phases: phase one, the Pilot Fund for Touring Cinema Initiatives and phase two, the Equipment Fund.
