When the movie, based around two friends involved in a vicious postcode war, was released, it was pulled from Vue after a brawl between teenagers took place at a Birmingham cinema. Reflecting on the ban ahead of the movie’s release on DVD, Rapman told Metro.co.uk: ‘The ban to me was really just prejudice…At the time, I was fuming when it happened, but it worked out to be the best thing that could have happened. ‘[The film] went down with crazy acclaim. It became like, “The movie is so dangerous, let me go and see what the big deal is.”‘ The star – real name Andrew Onwubolu – will be working on a new movie in the USA, and explained: ‘It actually got me my new job, the reason why I got the movie I’m doing now is because the producers were reading [about the ban].
