A Polish biopic about a jazz pianist, a harrowing documentary from the Czech Republic about Internet child abuse, a French rom-com and an Albanian political thriller will all be part of the ninth annual Calgary European Film Festival, offering to take viewers around the continent from the comfort of their own home.
The Nov. 7 to 15 festival will be an online-only affair due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that hasn’t diminished the variety of cinema up for grabs. Twenty movies representing 20 countries and numerous genres will be available for viewers.
