London community asked to help find a name
Tuesday, 12th June 2018; Next month construction will start on building a state of the art 5 screen independent cinema in the old Ballet Rambert buildings on Chiswick High Road. The new cinema will also provide a café/bar and a private members bar.
The local community are being asked to help name the new site, go to https://www.facebook.com/thechiswickcinema/ to vote for your favourite.
Ownership of the development changed hands from Picturehouse Cinemas to Lyn Goleby, the original co-founder of Picturehouse Cinemas and will be developed in partnership with Trafalgar Entertainment Group. Lyn Goleby, former Managing Director of Picturehouse Cinemas, has worked closely with freehold owner Kim Gottlieb of Lochstill Ltd, Cineworld and Picturehouse to transition the project and the site is now ready for redevelopment and a planned opening as soon as late 2019.
The cinema will programme a broad range of mainstream and arthouse films and its close links to Trafalgar Entertainment Group’s Trafalgar Releasing will mean that its schedules will include a deep programme of Event cinema, arts and entertainment events from global sources of theatre, dance, visual arts and music.
A membership will launch in Autumn 2018 when work on site will be well underway. It will include a limited number of Foundation Memberships which will give access to a private Members floor and balcony, including a private dining room with a private screening room.
