Christie®, a global visual technologies company, is proud to announce that Angelo Tacca, CEO of Ehome Italia Service, has been awarded a Gold Medal for his work in supporting the cinema community in the transition from 35mm film to digital projection. Ehome Italia Service is the exclusive distributor for Christie’s digital projection solutions in Italy.
On Friday 18th October the 34th edition of the “Gold Medal – A Life for the Cinema” took place in the Spazio Novecento in Rome. ‘A Life for the Cinema’ is specifically designed to reward all those ‘behind the scenes’ professional people without whom no film could be made – the distributors and exhibitors of cinema, the set staff, technicians, wardrobe specialists, stylists and office workers. This has always been the spirit of this initiative.
“I am delighted to have received this Gold Medal award from ‘A Life for the Cinema’. I have been in the film industry since 2000, so it really is an honour for me to be recognised for my role in the innovation and transformation in the cinema world, in particular for the support that I have given to the Italian Film Industry in the early stages to help promote and sustain the adoption of the new digital projection technology in the cinema marketplace. I would also like to thank my colleagues for all of the support that they have given me over many years – I really could not have achieved this without them,” commented Tacca.
Ehome has provided technical training on digital projection and also created a supporting infrastructure to service Christie products in the cinema market that covers the whole country and engages highly qualified experts to respond with competence and professionalism to the market demand.
“Our vision and approach have allowed us to achieve very ambitious goals – so far we have completed about 800 Christie D-Cinema installations in Italy. We are now considered as a point of reference by the market itself, thanks to the high quality of the Christie products, our professional consultancy approach that enables our cinema customers to achieve the best qualitative picture results on the screen, and the excellent after-sales service that we supply. Finally, the results obtained are particularly encouraging – Christie currently holds approximately 40% of the digital projection units installed in the Italian territory,” Tacca concluded.
Dale Miller, vice president, EMEA, Christie, said, “This is fantastic news. I would like to congratulate Angelo on his well-deserved award. Christie has led the way in the transition to digital in cinema and it is especially pleasing to see one of our extended team at Ehome being rewarded in this way for the important part that he has played in this industry-changing journey.”
