Education the focus as company unveils exciting solutions
ISE, Amsterdam– (28 January 2013) – As a founding ISE exhibitor, Christie® will again occupy a large, and intuitive multi-zone site at ISE 2013. Marking the exhibition’s tenth anniversary the Christie production ‘village’ will combine stands H40, H46 and H50 inside Hall 1 into an explosive, ergonomically presented product showcase. A must-see display, it boasts a brand new projection mapping façade created especially for the show.
From boardrooms to retail applications, from Christie®MicroTiles® to 3D mapping, visitors to the Christie stand will be welcomed with a solution at every turn — whether they are looking for a 4,000-lumen LCD solution or powerful 35,000-lumen 3-chip DLP® projection, basic XGA or native 4K state-of-the-art resolution, and/or 2D or 3D platforms.
There will be a heavy focus on market education and the stand will incorporate a dedicated technical service meeting space, manned by Christie certified engineers, where free consultation will be offered to all delegates, who will be apprised of the full extent of Christie’s pro AV support services. This will be boosted by a dedicated seminar theatre, surrounded by videowall and MicroTiles Interactive zones, the presentation space for a new outdoor LCD flat panel LCD and a 1-chip DLP gallery.
These interlinked zones will address a myriad of market segments including corporate boardrooms, higher education, rental staging, broadcast, virtual reality and advanced control room environments, along with a dedicated hospitality area. Examples of 3D video mapping will come alive, driven by Christie J Series projectors and Christie Nitro integrated moving yokes for big canvas statements.
Several new technologies will be showcased — including Christie Phoenix, a controller platform utilising companies existing network infrastructure —as well as fully collaborative visual solutions for mission-critical control room monitoring and fully-interactive MicroTiles.
The Christie Interactivity Kit will also be featured at ISE 2013. Powered by Baanto™ ShadowSense™ tracking technology, this breakthrough design will enable multiple users to interact simultaneously with content on the Christie MicroTiles or any large-format video wall, by transforming it into a multi-touch surface. The kit itself can be configured into 84 different sizes and can accommodate practically any large format display up to 21.4 feet wide and 6 feet high, or up to a 16-units wide by 6-units tall Christie MicroTiles array. Operating on a Windows 7 platform, the easy-to-use kit simply plugs into an on-site computer’s USB port without the need for drivers.
Another world debut will be given to the FHD551-W LCD outdoor/weatherproof flat panel, which will set the standard for outdoor LED-backlit LCD technology. Rugged and versatile, the 55-inch Christie FHD551-W is a professional grade full HD solution designed to drive LCD flat panels and perform in harsh outdoor environments.
Christie and Control Rooms Deliver Collaborative Visual Solutions
Christie will also be looking to consolidate its position in the control room sector, where it will demonstrate a major reinvestment. On show will be the new Christie Entero™ HB Display Cubes — the brightest LED projectors for control room use, with the world’s first Wi-Fi control capabilities — and Christie Phoenix, a networked distributed information management platform that will be revealed on the opening day.
Based on cutting-edge LED technology with over 1,000 lumens capability in illumination and wireless networking capabilities (unique in the world), Christie believes this solution will drive the future of control rooms. The system also includes proprietary third generation ArraySync™ auto-colour and brightness LED video wall management, and improved tiling and scaling capabilities for the perfect video wall display in a wide variety of cube sizes.
Also addressing the growing demands of the control room environment, matching cutting-edge performance with lower cost of ownership, is the new Christie TVC-700 display wall processor, a powerful manager of the most complex information sources.
At the heart of Christie’s control room solutions, the Christie TVC-700 is PC-based and easy-to-use, purpose-built for the rigours of 24/7 control room environments. Using the PCIe bus architecture and state-of-the-art GPU technology, it provides ample graphics and processing power to support multiple inputs and outputs. With simultaneous support for hardware accelerated 3D applications and ultra-high resolution outputs, it can handle 3D content such as CAD/CAM modelling and data visualisation.

Elsewhere there will be plenty of visibility for the award-winning MicroTiles, which is based on an LED light source but uses DLP optical imaging. Scala will feature a 35-tile display on its booth, while Premier Mounts will use 14 MicroTiles modules to form their own media display geometric.
Christie’s premium grade, low cost of ownership 3LCD and single chip projectors will be well represented throughout in their own gallery. Projection displays will include edge-blend DWU550-G curved screen; DWU675-E, LX700, LX605 and LWU501i screens — while overhead banner projection will include DHD775-E, LX1200 and L2K1500 surfaces, angled downwards. The brand new G series and newly added E series models, which complete the ever growing range of LCD and 1-Chip DLP range of projectors, underline Christie’s commitment to this market. The Christie G Series are in the running for the prestigious InAVation Awards in the Most InAVative Commercial Projector Below 10k Lumens category.
Extending collaborative relationships with other equipment manufacturers forged at ISE 2012, a Christie LX41 LCD projector will fire images onto the Draper stand (1-M43) and a Mirage HD10K-M will project in the Stewart Film Screen (1-F40) booth.
In addition to the MicroTiles presence at the Scala booth (10-N129) andPremier Mounts (4-S56) — see above — there will be plenty of projector action. At Euromet (11-P72) a Roadster WU14K‐M, Mirage WU12‐M, DHD675‐E and DWU675‐E will be in use; on the Blue Fox stand (10-K113) there is an LX601i;Videlco (8-M210) will use two DWU775‐E to boost their presentation; Oray (8-M210) will use two Mirage HD10K‐M, and the Euroscreen srl presentation (1-M90) will be aided by an HD9K‐J.
Nor will Christie activity be confined to the exhibition floor. Elsewhere the company is involved in Insight Media’s MegaPixel Summit, with a presentation from George Tsintzouras, Senior Director New Business Initiatives, Christie on the Past, Present and Future of Megapixel Displays. Featured at the summit will be two Roadster Mirage HD14K-M projectors (with AutoStack 2.0) on a curved screen, along with a Christie Spyder X20 0808 for control. Finally, Christie will also be sponsoring the ISE Keynote Address, presented by Marco Tempest, in The Forum at the RAI, for which a Christie Roadster HD20K‐J projector will be provided.
