THE Cinematograph Act of 1936 is outdated, irrelevant and needs to be amended, says San Fernando Deputy Mayor Junia Regrello.
He said on Friday he was embarrassed by the closure of SouthPark Cinemas 10, one day after its official public opening, because it lacked the necessary licence.
On Thursday, police and fire officers shut down operations at SouthPark development, Tarouba, because Caribbean Cinemas, responsible for the multimillion-dollar cineplex, did not have the required licence, Regrello said.
