Last week during CinemaCon, Barco set up shop at the Century 16 South Point and XD at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, about seven miles down the Strip from the convention’s home base at Caesars. The company deemed it necessary to bus press, exhibitors and other industry professionals to the offsite location, though, to demonstrate its full CinemaBarco-branded experience. The concept starts in the lobby and extends all the way to after the show. But the centerpiece of the experience is what Barco calls “Escape”—a three-panel screen that extends the cinema image to the sides of the front of the auditorium.
