Cinemark Theaters, Cineworld Group buy National CineMedia from AMC Theatres, for $156.8 million – L.A. Biz

Cineworld Group (LSE: CINE) and Cinemark Theaters (NYSE: CNK) are taking National CineMedia LLC off of a competitors’ hands. Plano-based movie theater company Cinemark announced yesterday it will acquire the remaining units of National CineMedia, currently owned by AMC Theatres, for $156.8 million. U.K.-based Cineworld and Cinemark will each acquire half of the units.
