If you live in Los Angeles, or are going to be visiting within the next week or so, there will be a rare chance to see some of the classic Cinerama films. The Cinerama Dome theatre, in Hollywood, will be screening, “The Brother’s Grimm,” “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World,” “2001: A Space Oddyssey” which was shot in 70mm Super Panavision, and my personal favorite cinerama film, “How the West was Won.” Starting this Friday, September 28th and continuing through October 4th, these films along with, “This is Cinerama,” will be screened. As these films have undergone restoration, this should be quite the event, remember Cinerama had seven channels of discreet stereo sound.
