The Film Forum series “Sapph-O-Rama” (Feb. 2-13) shows that lesbian cinema extends far beyond a niche category. The thirty films on view range from the silent era (with “Salomé,” from 1922, starring Alla Nazimova) to recent releases, and include international selections—among them Chantal Akerman’s “Je Tu Il Elle” and Pedro Almodóvar’s “Dark Habits.”
