In an effort to lure cinemagoers back to the big screen while the coronavirus pandemic is still ongoing, major exhibitors have promised that there will be increased safety procedures in place including heavy sanitization of all cinemas and new staff protocols.
All of these new procedures aren’t cheap, and AMC CEO Adam Aron warns that exhibitors are likely to make its customers foot the bill. Speaking on a recent investor’s call Aron confirmed that the chain is opening its doors again this month and added that costs for all these safety procedures will be “passed on to the consumers”.
