Cash taken at box offices fell by £1billion last year as a result of the Covid pandemic. But it is not all bad news for the nation’s 843 cinemas – as a backlog of great films are expected to explode on to our screens over the summer. They include the long-awaited James Bond movie No Time To Die, Oscar-winner Nomadland and the Aretha Franklin biopic, Respect.
