The Crown Theatre in Eccles, Salford, opened in 1899, originally as The Lyceum Theatre
Decades of history and heritage have finally been lost for good after a fierce fire at a Grade II-listed former theatre, cinema and bingo hall.
The Crown Theatre in Eccles, Salford, opened in 1899, originally as The Lyceum Theatre.
It went on to be used as a cinema from 1932 before becoming a bingo hall.
The building is understood to have stood empty and derelict for around 20 years now.
Not much remained, but Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed the blaze in the early hours of Sunday has gutted the entire building on Church Street.
