Moviegoers in Japan can soon enjoy premium immersive cinema sound boosted by the Finnish innovation FLEXOUND Augmented Audio.
The Finnish FLEXOUND Augmented Audio has been in co-operation with the Japanese UNITED CINEMAS since the beginning of 2019, on multiple cinema projects that will be boosted by FLEXOUND Augmented Audio in Japan, including the FLEXOUND Pulse™ cinema sound and seat system, which was just launched this June.
UNITED CINEMAS, that currently runs 43 theaters around Japan, has chosen to work with FLEXOUND in order to provide the best possible immersive premium cinema experience to their audiences, and to bring the cinemas close to customers in a new, innovative way. FLEXOUND creates a unique, multi-sensory immersive listening experience that you can feel as well as hear. It combines full-range high-quality audio with gentle physical sound wave vibration, to add the sensation of touch to the cinematic experience.
With the new FLEXOUND Pulse™ augmented audio seats any space can be transformed into a superior, immersive soundscape and multisensory cinema, without the need for any external loudspeakers. UNITED CINEMAS is proud to be the first cinema operator in the world to announce its plans to open cinemas based on the immersive FLEXOUND Pulse™ technology and their own innovative next-generation cinema concept.
“We are very excited about the co-operation with FLEXOUND and the opportunity to offer Japanese audiences something totally new. We believe this is an experience people will love after the long pandemic, and with FLEXOUND Pulse™ we can offer a safe, but truly entertaining and relaxing escape from the everyday stress” says Akihito Watanabe, President of UNITED CINEMAS.
“Finnish design is highly valued by the Japanese consumers and their love for entertainment and innovations is profound. From the very beginning, we found a common vision about the future of cinemas with the UNITED CINEMAS team, and are very, very happy now to finally be able to implement our common cinematic future in Japan, and to support the growth of UNITED CINEMAS,” says Mervi Heinaro, CEO of FLEXOUND.
