Cologne, 23 April: The European branch of the International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA) has today announced the winners of its 2018 awards, celebrating technological leadership and innovation in the European cinema exhibition industry.
In the wake of CinemaCon and with ICTA’s European flagship event – the Barcelona seminar series – approaching fast, the global association today announced the following award winners:
Classic Cinema of the Year: Zoo Palast Berlin, Germany
New Build Cinema of the Year: Cinestar 4DX, Mall of Split, Croatia
Best Cinema Refurbishment of the Year: Village World @ The Mall Athens, Greece
Representatives of the winning cinemas will be honored during ICTA’s award ceremony on 10 June in Barcelona – the first day of ICTA’s seminar series (and one day before the start of CineEurope).
While the final programme of the seminar series is still in development, participants can expect a highly engaging, insightful and cutting-edge event.
The event has already confirmed speakers from major studios, leading cinema operators and technology providers and will look into topics as diverse as “Teenage Expectations of Cinema-going” to “Direct-View-Displays” and “Fireside Chat: The Studio Perspective”.
Registrations for the Barcelona seminar series are open on www.icta-web.com in the events section. Cinema operators are invited to register free of charge for the Sunday seminar by sending an email to office@icta.eu.com.
