Several high-profile cinema closures have sparked discussion online about the future of cinemas in Singapore.

This was not helped by poor attendances after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Moviegoers said that they want more value for their money for the price of a ticket. Others suggested that novel experiences and an extended variety of films may help draw people back to cinema halls.
