Liverpool theater benefit will celebrate 50th anniversary of ‘Help!’ – National Beatles | Examiner.com

The Plaza Community Cinema in Liverpool will hold a special event at 7 p.m. Oct. 3 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the film “Help!” and raise money for refurbishing the venerable theater. The evening will feature a special screening of the Beatles film and the music of the Mersey Beatles tribute band from Liverpool. Besides “Help!,” the evening will feature music from other Beatles films including “Magical Mystery Tour” and “Yellow Submarine.” The Mersey Beatles’ second set will also celebrate later Beatle music with music from “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “Abbey Road” and some Beatles solo tracks.
