A multi-million pound flats complex could be built where a Leicester centre cinema once stood. Proposals have been drawn up for a nine-story building in Belgrave Gate. A 1930s-built ABC cinema occupied the site, but it closed in 1997 and was demolished a decade later. Now plans have been lodged with Leicester City Council for 126 apartments of one and two bedrooms. The complex would have have shops, office space or restaurants on the ground floor facing onto Belgrave Gate.
