Australia’s first indoor drive-in cinema has opened at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) as a result of a partnership and Village Roadshow.
Making use of MCEC’s expansive area of unused exhibition bays, the location, described as “weatherproof and daytime-friendly”, can fit 174 cars with spots filled on a first come, first serve basis and allocations dependant on vehicle size.
The timings of each screening will afford audiences more opportunities to enjoy child-friendly matinee sessions over the Summer school holidays, or later sessions for big children and adults, wanting to enjoy some classic films in a new way.
