Star Cinema is in line for a digital upgrade, a move that will ensure the downtown Stayton theater can continue operations.
Stayton City Council voted 4-1 in favor of giving cinema owner Jeff Mexico the extra funding necessary to upgrade the cinema’s projection equipment. Councilor Brian Quigley was the lone dissenting vote.
