Burton’s new nine-screen cinema officially opened in October 2000. In the weeks leading up to the grand opening ceremony, the Burton Mail was given a sneak preview of the new development. The Cineworld multiplex was scheduled to show its first movies on Friday, October 20 on a new £10 million leisure complex at Bass’s Middle Way development.
