Odeon, the U.K. cinema chain, has announced an extension to its high-end Luxe Cinema brand in the guise of Odeon Luxe & Dine. Scheduled to open in London’s Islington Square by the end of 2019, the concept will provide a “premium” dining experience to punters looking to complement their luxury cinema experience with a suitably posh meal beforehand.
The menu will include such delights as Wagyu beef, corn fed chicken and Moving Mountains Vegan burgers–which should be right on trend with the young “woke” generation–along with Wild Boar Hotdogs and flatbread pizza. Oscars is Odeon’s in-cinema bar and will offer up premium alcoholic options such as champagne and signature cocktails.
It’s no surprise that up-market Islington will be the first location to get the posh Luxe & Dine experience, and it’s interesting that the food has been announced before any details on the specifications of the new cinema as yet. Odeon has previously announced that its Islington Square development would be offer six-screens and one would hope that at least one would feature a Dolby Cinema screen, but nothing has been confirmed as yet.
