Pitsea Bingo Hall fire: First photos show abandoned building on fire as emergency services shut road

Pictures have emerged showing Pitsea’s abandoned Gala Bingo hall on fire. Flames were seen coming from the 89-year-old building at around 3pm today, forcing police and fire crews to close Pitsea High Road all afternoon (Tuesday, September 3). The building, which is one of the oldest in Pitsea, used to be a cinema before becoming a bingo hall and entertainment centre in the 70s.
