Finally in Manhattan another long time movie house has apparently shuttered its doors. The Beekman Theater, a long time staple located in the Lenox Hill area of the Upper East side shut unexpectedly this week, and it’s marquee taken down. Yelpers have been posting, saying the theather is closed. The Beekman first opened its doors as a single-screen theater in 1952, but shut in 2005 when the site was redeveloped into a cancer research center by Memorial Sloan-Kettering.
