For a director whose work has been so exhaustively celebrated, interpreted and puzzled over, Stanley Kubrick has, to date, been curiously short on biographers. Maybe because, even 25 years after his death, Kubrick’s films remain so elusive and obsessively rewatchable, his life and legacy have largely eluded the “definitive” biography.
