Surrounding Asia-Pacific: Dolby Atmos immersive audio finds a warm reception | Film Journal International

Dolby introduced its Dolby Atmos immersive audio format in June 2012 with the release of Disney and Pixar’s Brave. Today, the number of Dolby Atmos screens installed or committed to has topped 1,000. The Asia-Pacific region has been especially receptive to the new sound format, with more than 680 screens installed or pending.
