The boom is driven by streaming services that demand new content and high production value. With a global language and a rich talent pool, Britain was in a good place to benefit.

According to Netflix, the UK is currently the third largest production base after the United States and Canada. It won the production of ume apart from other countries. In August, Amazon announced that the second season of the Lord of the Rings prequel series would be filmed in the United Kingdom 20 years after Middle-earth means New Zealand.
