A Brussels-based/Flanders-based lobbyist has been named No1 on a list of the top women in global cinema by a leading US-based film industry online magazine.
Laura Houlgatte received the recognition for her work as CEO with the International Union of Cinemas (UNIC).
UNIC acts as the voice of cinema operators on the international stage. Its members include Pathé, UGC, Odeon, Cineworld, Vue and national cinema associations in 38 countries across the European continent, from Dublin to Moscow.
Laura has worked at UNIC for five years and was appointed CEO in 2017. She also plays a leadership role with the Global Cinema Federation and chairs ‘Creativity Works’, a coalition of organisations representing Europe’s cultural and creative sectors.
