The UK’s Film and TV Production Restart Scheme has backed a total of 640 projects in its first year of operation, supporting some $2.6BN (£1.9BN) worth of production on Brit shores since it was rolled out.The initiative was introduced only July 28, 2020 to plug the gap left after coronavirus insurance became effectively impossible to acquire from regular insurers. The fund underwrites Covid-related delays, allowing producers to avoid potentially crippling financial exposure.
