Blackpool has been given the go-ahead to start work on two key regeneration projects after being allocated £8.6m of funding from the Government’s Covid-19 ‘Getting Building Fund’.
The schemes which include the redevelopment of Houndshill Shopping Centre and Abingdon Street Market have been given formal approval by the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership (LEP) – and it’s hoped they’ll create 225 jobs.
The plans include a nine-screen IMAX cinema, two new restaurants, and a new Wilkos store.
