Veritek has been selected by Sony Digital Cinema to provide a pan-European, multi-lingual Network Operations Centre (NOC) to Sony’s entire Digital Cinema screen portfolio across Europe.
Following a six-month, seven-way competitive tender process, Veritek successfully secured the contract that will provide exhibitors and integrators with first and second line technical support, including the proactive monitoring of Sony Digital Cinema’s total European Installed base.
The multilingual NOC will operate from 9am to midnight seven days a week in English, German, Italian and Spanish from December 2014.
David McIntosh, Vice President, Sony Digital Cinema 4K Solutions for Europe and the Americas said: “Our key aim was to provide one uniform, effective and efficient service to all our digital cinema customers across Europe. We have chosen Veritek to provide this as its service offering, both in terms of expertise and geographical spread will help us achieve this possible customer support.”
Prior to this Sony had an English language NOC provided by Convergent in Atlanta, an internal NOC in Basingstoke as well as Veritek’s NOC in Germany. Sony’s strategic aim was to consolidate this model to create a simplified and more effective NOC for its customers.
Jim Edgar, CEO, Veritek said: “We are delighted to be providing Sony Digital Cinema with our award-winning service and support. Our pan-European reach and highly skilled team look forward to providing Sony’s Digital cinema customers with a multilingual network operation centre.”
Veritek began working with Sony in 2011 as it’s on site provider (OSP) for breakdown and preventative maintenance support to Vue cinemas in the UK. In 2013 Veritek completed the digitalisation of the CinemaxX group in Germany and Denmark and began providing OSP and NOC support there as well.
Veritek already provides Sony Digital Cinema with a NOC in Germany, and to provide the best possible language support it will add Sony support to its existing in country NOC’s in Italy, UK and Spain.
