I remember the time when ‘Ek Pal Ka Jeena’ would play at a social gathering and the music for the hook-step would inevitably elicit the tiniest of movements from even the most reticent of dancers. Our memories of the early 2000s are linked with Hrithik Roshan in his leather outfit, reverse baseball cap smack across his forehead, making everyone else realise they were — after all — very average dancers.
