Whitechapel’s Genesis appears to be London’s only independent cinema planning to open in London on July 4, as others cite financial difficulties.
As chains begin to open this weekend, with Everyman cinemas welcoming film lovers to its Hampstead and Barnet branches and Odeon opening select sites across the country from Saturday, almost all of London’s independents will stay shut.
