Growing up in the ‘80s and ‘90s, my big and small screen heroines included Laura Dern as Jurassic Park’s paleobotanist Dr Ellie Sattler; Stephanie Beacham as Dr. Kristin Westphalen, biochemist and Chief Medical Officer of the seaQuest DSV; Sigourney Weaver’s Ghostbusters/Ghostbusters 2 cellist-cum-art-historian Dana Barrett; and countless others.
