The Ambassadors Cinema in Woking will shut its doors at the end of the summer for a major redevelopment project. Located in the centre of town above the shopping centre, the popular entertainment venue will be closed from September 28, it has been announced. As the only cinema in Woking, it has been running for 364 days a year since it opened 27 years ago.
With this unsurprisingly comes a fair amount of wear and tear, as admitted by the cinema project director Simon Thomsett, who said that “it’s going to be more than just a refurbishment”.
He added: “We’re going to strip the whole of the existing building out and start again.”
